Hotel is beautiful, staff were awesome and we were looked after incredibly well (our sons wedding was at the hotel on Easter weekend). Hilton, Hyatt and Marriott have each made great improvements in the past decade. This hotel shows how design can dramatically alter a stay. And that was the end of the connection with Marriott. Plus, I really enjoyed the little touches like the newspaper-inspired artwork inside. Breakfast was delicious we liked location of hotel and staff was lovely.
The Press Hotel is the former home of the Portland Press Herald. While I'm sad to see that the newspaper can no longer fill such a large building, the hotel won me over. The Madison Beach Hotel, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, is a great option along the Connecticut coast.

Great location, very nice and friendly staff, one of the staff called "Reyes" was so kind and gave me a tour in the hotel while explaining the history of the building, I appreciate this a lot! The hotel is different with a combination of old and modern style. Guestrooms are designed to represent a ship’s cabin – albeit more spacious – with millwork framing the bed and TV, and a palette of navy and brass.
